Grand Marshall 2B Thelma Lu's tail, er tale
Cakie here. It has been five years since feyfey left me with the job of being BoardWaddle Hostess. One of the most pleasant things I get to do is to announce the Grand Marshall!! The GrandMarshall 2B waddles in the pawprints of her nine predecessors and will take over from the reigning Grand Marshall, Brie Sherwin on April 25, 2008! It will be her job to lead the pawrade of her friends, wear a custom designed chapeau from dawn of the West and to attend a variety of social events in service of her homeless friends.
This year's Grand Marshall is the youngest Grand Marshall ever! She brings not only her own too cute, hardworking paws, but an entire rescue family! Because the lovely young pupster who will serve as Grand Marshall 2008 was born as a Tri-State Basset! Please join me in recognizing Grand Marshall 2B Thelma Lu Dickson-Foth.

Thelma Lu brings to the job both the accomplishment of her dearly departed predecessors and her own efforts. Long time waddlers Scooby, Jake and Martha went to the bridge in 2007, but left Thelma Lu a history of having compelled their slaves to do extraordinary things to raise pledges for the poor hounds of Tri-State Basset Rescue. This includes years of exceptional placements in the pledge competition. The results were the result of creativity and drive. Thelma Lu was born June 22 2007 with a mission. A mission to help all other homeless hounds find wonderful loving forever homes.
Thelma Lu was rescued by Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue even before she was born. You see the GM2B was once named Summer and she is one of the famous Sunny's Pups. You can read all about Sunny's pups by visiting their web site: Sunny's Pups
At the very tender age of 12 weeks old Thelma Lu made her first public appearance to raise money for TSBHR. It was at the September Picnic and Thelma Lu along with her adorable brothers and sisters were on hand to raise moolah. They did an incredible job! It was that day that Thelma Lu had decided to make helping homeless hounds her life's commitment.
Thelma Lu's next public appearance was at a Hushpuppy photo shoot in NY. She was a mere 15 weeks old. Thelma Lu and her siblings worked their paws to the bone that day modeling for the new spring Hushpuppy magazine ad.
In November 2007 Thelma Lu, along with Minnie, helped nudge the slaves to get busy organizing TSBHR 2nd Annual Bowling for Bassets. Another wonderful event where much needed money was raised. Thelma Lu shares her home with the Slaves Ellie Foth and Fred Dickson. Her furry family consists of Miss Minnie, Artie and Ballzie, all of which are TSBHR alumni. When Thelma Lu is not working to bring awareness to basset hound rescue she can be found tormenting whomever is close by.
Now at the age of 10 months old and still being a puppy, Thelma Lu has been given the HUGE honor to be GM. Thelma Lu has agreed to take on her new responsibility knowing she has some pretty big paws to fill. We are sure Thelma Lu will do a memorable job.Thelma Lu advises that she has more plans for her slaves in thefuture so stay tuned.
